Annual Good Practice Conferences 2004-2006
This popular annual event, which we managed for three years, brought together fire, police, insurance and local authority personnel to encourage partnership working and to share good practice in arson prevention.
We worked with the client to design the format of the day which included plenary presentations, workshops and a showcase exhibition to provide a focus for networking during the breaks. The client accepted our recommendation of the Institute of Civil Engineers (One Great George Street, London SW1) as an appropriate venue: equally convenient for Ministers, speakers and delegates; a good range of breakout rooms; a purpose built lecture theatre; and a beautiful banqueting hall to comfortably accommodate our 250 delegates and 12 exhibition stands.
The basic format was so successful that it remained unaltered for the next two years. All the client had to do was to select the annual event theme, invite the speakers and exhibitors, and supply us with contact details for us to send out invitations and manage responses.
We were responsible for:
- programme design input
- venue search and contract negotiation
- invitation flyer and folder copywriting, design and print
- delegate invitation mailing and response management via our on-line booking website
- workshop facilitation
- venue/catering liaison
- speaker briefing
- exhibition space planning and exhibitor briefing
- on-the-day stage management
- delegate reception/registration/ushering and signage
- event report writing, design and on-line publication
