Fire and Resilience Policy Operational Assessment of Service Delivery, 2007

The primary brief for this event was to review the assessment process. However there were also two "softer" objectives: firstly to share good practice between higher and lower achieving fire and rescue services (FRS's); and secondly to begin to foster closer working relationships in order to encourage greater sharing on mutual operational issues in the future.

120 managers and practitioners from the Fire and Rescue Services attended one of two full-day seminars in London and Manchester. After brief presentations on emerging themes and the assessment team's perspective of the process, a review exercise allowed delegates to consider and give feedback on how they had felt about the process. Afternoon workshops explored the emerging themes.
