Environmental Road Shows
Environmental Management Advisory Service (EMAS) Good for Business Roadshow
This was a series of eight events in 1996 throughout England, Scotland and Northern Ireland promoting to business the benefits of environmental management and specifically the EMAS scheme (Environmental Management Advisory Service). Our role was to work closely with our client, the Department of the Environment, and its regional offices to co-ordinate the marketing effort, recruit delegates, sell exhibition space, commission and brief Carol Vorderman as chairperson, liaise with speakers, manage slide production and stage management.

The roadshow was extremely well attended, surpassing DOE expectations. We were also asked to organise the first anniversary event of the scheme for an international audience.
Two more examples of projects for the Department of the Environment in the 1990s are shown below. Our role in both cases involved venue search and journey planning, delegate marketing, planning and sale of floor space to exhibitors, financial administration, set building and technical services, on-the-day stage management and registration. Again, we used the services of celebrity presenters (Val Singleton and Judith Hann) to encourage high attendance and to ensure an interactive and professional flow to the proceedings.
